The thing about Bernard is he’s really more of an actor, known for his comedic roles rather than a singer.

Most people probably know him from Doctor Who,

He was also famously the voice of the wombles, (don’t worry I don’t plan to do the Wombles although if I’m honest I do actually have an album of their music, a leftover from my youth.)

Back in the early sixties though he was also known for a number of comedic songs some of them (maybe even all of them, I wasn’t around then) even hit the UK charts. He also has the dubious honour of being one of only two singers/groups I know that have had a band named after one of their songs. The other is the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band.
