the ending of this chapter has been a pain, but I think I’ve got it.
I guess I’ll know tomorrow depending on whether I press on with chapter 10 or try this one once again.
I went to see this movie not really expecting a lot from it. It delivered better than I’d hoped, much better.
At times it does feel as if the writers watched the original Die Hard movie before making this, there were any number of similarities between the two movies….
The basic plot of one guy versus a group of terrorists, one of whom also happens to be a computer expert. (Necessary for the plot, but nevertheless a parallel, especially considering the way he was killed off.
The hero coming under attack from a friendly helicopter while he’s on the roof.
The hero having someone he loves among the hostages whose identity the terrorists find out and use her as leverage against said hero. Actually I thought the little girl played her role well.
And perhaps spending a lot of time in lift shafts is how heroes deal with such situations.
Having said that, and having recently seen the latest Die Hard movie, it’s good to know that someone can still make a decent movie in the die hard vain.

Cream added to music
A very short chapter
only 2500 words.
A lot of work at the beginning of the chapter
and I removed the whole last third as I felt it was headed into marshy territory
the result is about 3400 words.
A much shorter but much improved chapter.
