It’s hard to catagorise this movie. It was pretty much what I expected, It feels a little dated, but that adds to the charm, the earliest books were written in rhe 1920’s (I think) to set it in the modern era would anachronistic.
So, yes I liked it. However I read the books back when I was very young. And to be frank I always prefers Asterix to Tintin but Tintin was still a good read. On the other hand, I feel that for someone who maybe hasn’t read the books and knows nothing of the characters, this movie won’t have the same effect.
Errors? I could find nothing wrong with it. The Action was perhaps a little over the top, but it’s Tintin, it’s supposed to be. Perhaps I’m a little confused that thay started with Unicorn and not one of the earlier books, but then Tintin in the Soviet union doubtless wouldn’t make a good movie, likewise Tintin in America although an ideal serial for a magazine or newspaper has far too many cliffhanger escapes, even some very silly ones.
I assume if the movie is popular enough for a sequel, they’ll be making Red Rackham’s Treasue next.
My rating, I’m going to give it 4 out of 5. I think this is mainly due to the fact that I think I’ve grown out of this sort of silliness now, although I prefer to think that it was still very well done.
